Blue Flag Beaches

Blue Flag is a prestigious, international award scheme which acts as a guarantee to tourists that a beach they are visiting is one of the best in the world.

It is awarded to coastal destinations which have achieved the highest quality in water, facilities, safety, environmental education and management.

The number of beaches  gaining Blue Flag status increases every year – there are more than 2,600 now displaying the quality indicator across the world, 8 of which can be found in Cornwall, which is actually more than the combined total of The Bahamas, Jamaica and New Zealand !!
