Onwards and outwards to the next SV happening, this time with a live performance from an artist we’ve grown very fond of over last year or so, future beat maker and next level hip hop producer fLako. A rising star of the youthful and very international community of hip hop influenced producers pushing the boundaries of the music towards more a rhythmically diverse, sonically exciting and altogether wonkier place a million miles away from frigid ‘trip hop’ drivel and radio friendly monotony. Basically bringing back the lost element of having fun! fLakos music is full of swagger, spaced out, drunk and slurring but at the same time robust and buoyant on at the surface of seismic low-end activities. Live on two MPCs, young fLako rocks the party with a slew of deadly rhythms, flexing hip hop templates into to rude, low slung lurches and bumping lunar excursions. Chopping up classic vocals ( he has remixed the likes of Bustah Rhymes, Erykah Baduh and Slumvillage) with his own beat compositions aligns fLako’s sound with his Hip Hop roots. SV DJs Will Vegas, Dave Spenceley Andy Mac and Catrina d’Olive will be on hand as always keeping things nice and naughty.
On a more personal note Sir Vinyl DJ Andy Mac will be celebrating his 26th Birthday on the night, so come down and give him a hug if he’s still standing…..
