Cornwall's First Dental Spa
Visiting the dentist wouldn’t figure highly on most people’s list of relaxing things to do but with the opening of a new state-of-the-art practice in Newquay, Cornish people can now experience a whole new style and standard of dental care. The Green Room’s new ‘dental spa’ has just launched and people are invited to drop-in to view the property and understand the unsurpassed depth of expertise and level of personal attention that they will receive at the practice.
The Green Room is the brainchild of Richard and Sally Hudson, a husband and wife team who met while studying at the University of Bristol. Their love of surfing lured them to Newquay and the resultant Green Room practice on Henver Road quickly established a reputation for outstanding dentistry in a friendly, down-to-earth environment. Nine years later, they have outgrown the property and, driven by their passion for creating the ultimate in design and experience, have made a significant investment to bring the new Green Room location to life.
They enlisted the services of Royal Institute of British Architect award-winning designer, Richard Mitzman, himself originally a practicing dentist, to create a purpose-built property that is a triumph of aesthetic beauty. Using space and natural light, Richard has created a truly uplifting experience which is more akin to a boutique hotel or spa than a traditional dental surgery. Set within tranquil gardens, overlooking the Trenance Boating Lake, the exterior of The Green Room practice is as stunning as the interior and access is easy with ample space and parking for 30 cars.
Both Sally and Richard are as dedicated to the wellbeing of their clients as they are to the pursuit of 21st Century technology and techniques that provide unsurpassed finishes and dental health. With a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, and an expertise in implants, Richard has earned the reputation as one of Cornwall’s leading dentists and is the selected representative of the Association of Dental Implantology UK in the South West. Sally is dedicated to general dentistry and is gifted with nervous patients, children and those with special needs. With a range of specially-honed techniques, they can guarantee virtually pain-free dental treatment and patients often fall asleep whilst they are being cared for. To relax them further, the new integral sound system means that clients can even select their own choice of music during their treatments.
The Green Room is also one of the very few UK practices to have a resident technician, Stephen Lusty, in his in-house laboratory. Stephen comes from a leading London surgery where he has crafted the smiles of many of celebrities and he now brings his philosophy of providing “West End dentistry to the West Country.” Stephen’s on-site presence ensures that perfect colour matches are made for each patient’s teeth, making crowns and veneers indistinguishable from natural teeth and cutting down the time it takes for the process.
The upstairs area of the practice houses two beauty treatment rooms offering a full range of facials, massages, manicures, and pedicures ensuring that clients can be looking and feeling their best at all times, whether they are attending for dental treatment or not. An osteopath/acupuncturist will also be joining the practice next week, again contributing significantly to the unique holistic approach that the Green Room offers.
