Zero Lounge Opens in Penzance
THE ZERO LOUNGE OPENS ITS DOORS
Penzance has a brand new place in which to be seen after the opening of the Zero Lounge in the town’s Chapel Street.
The new bar – a former restaurant in what was the Regent, half way down Chapel Street – has been completely transformed into a stylish and contemporary bar offering a range of wines, cocktails and bottled beers.
According to Zero Lounge Manager Kate Jamieson the goal from the outset was to create a decadent bar the likes of which Penzance has not seen before, catering for those who don’t necessarily want to spend an evening out in one of the town’s many pubs.
“Penzance is extremely well catered for when it comes to traditional pubs, but we felt that there was a real opportunity in the market to open a really stylish bar offering a totally different and relaxed atmosphere and focusing on a range of great wines, bottled beers and cool cocktails.
“The reaction to the Zero Lounge so far has been amazing. We’ve been extremely busy with lots of people saying it’s the type of place the town has been crying out for, which is exactly what we were hoping for,” said Kate.
Set downstairs in what is one of Penzance’s oldest buildings some of the original features were uncovered during the complete refurbishment programme of the multi-roomed bar, including slate floors, wooden pillars and fireplaces, which have been retained and mixed in with the new contemporary styling.
“It’s such an old building but the transformation has worked brilliantly and creates a great atmosphere where people can come and relax and enjoy drinks with friends,” added Kate.
