Truro’s annual events calendar includes ‘Art in the City’ a weeklong arts festival every April and the week long Truro music festival every September. The highlight of winter is the spectacular Christmas Lights display throughout the city centre, the City of Lights procession, a visit from real Reindeer and the Traditional Victorian Christmas market selling specialty products and crafts, late-night shopping evenings and an abundance of varied events throughout November and December.

Over the past five years Truro College has excelled as one of the most recognised in the South West of England. Every term it appears as if a new building is being erected, each with a slick and eye catching modern day design. Truro recently merged with Penwith College, located in Penzance.

Where Truro truly comes into its own is in its vast range of independent and specialist shops. Take a wander down Pydar Mews for fabulous gifts, jewellery and treats or head to Victoria Square which leads onto Kenwyn, River and Little Castle Streets for original clothes, shoes, homeware and more. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of Truro farmers’ market on Lemon Quay every Wednesday and Saturday. The quay is also within easy reach of the Pannier Market and Lemon Street Market offering an array of shops and stalls.
And when you’ve shopped until you’ve dropped, put your feet up with a cuppa or a glass of wine at one of the cities many coffee shops or bars. Our cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, pubs and bars offer everything to satisfy a rumbling tum or celebrate a special occasion.

The highlight of winter is Truro Christmas Lights throughout the city centre as well a "big switch-on" event, speciality products and crafts fairs, late-night shopping evenings, various events at the Cathedral.
